| Daisy-head schizont
The schizonts in this species have relatively few merozoites (often 8-12) and central clumped golden pigment. This allows a neat and attractive arrangement of merozoites around the central pigment that has a resemblance to the petal of a daisy. The "daisy head" appearance of schizonts in P.malariae. |
